M-Audio Nova

Has anyone here tried the M-Audio Nova?

I think it was here that there was that big thread on the Solaris. I was pretty impressed with the results but I did noticed it was a little "crispy" in the high-end.

Wondering how the Nova stacks up against the Solaris and the Rhode NT1-A mostly. The NT1-A is the other mic on my list. I'm using some cheap Nady drum mics right now .

I've used the Nova to stereo mic a Jazz Choir and to say the least, I was not happy with the results. To me, the mics sound cheap because they were harsh and weren't very full sounding. I was running them through an M-Audio Octane and the room was a concert hall. I would recommend finding another alternative. The solaris is a much better mic in general and would say go with that if you have it on hand.

FWIW, I have a Rode NT-1A, and while I like it I find it's a bit too bright for some things.

I Have 2 of the Solaris mics. I use the a lot for drum over heads. I've miced acoustic guitars and even used the to record a hand bell choir. Overall I've been happy with the mics. I've only found a few voices that I was happy with the results.
