M audio monitors

Are M audio monitors generally reputable? I'm limited to around the $200 range and was looking at the studiopro 4 and the dx4. They are the same price but the dx4 has more input choices. Any suggestions or preference?
Thanks

Grab your favorite CD go to GC and listen to them.
Dude, did you see where I live? We don't have huge selections around here. I'm pretty limited to online shopping. (besides I need something to do while I'm at work) :)

I have the BX5's, which have a nice, detailed mid and upper frequency response. If you are mixing hip-hop, dance, or anything with deep bass, you'll need a subwoofer, as they drop off below 50Hz. I would guess the DX4 are similar, but I haven't heard them. If you can get to a music store that carries them and try them out with some of your favorite cd's, that would be best. For $200, don't expect too much.

I mainly record metal but would probably end up needing a sub too. I may try the dx4s anyway but I'm double checking the return policy first!
Thanks for the input
