M-audio Mobile pre + a preamp...makes a difference?

ok a producer i know told me to get a PRESONUS TubePRE amp for a warmer feel for my vocals...just wanted to know...since the mobile pre is already a pre amp...do i really need to get this pre amp?

and would it even connect?

also do ireally need a mixer?

If you are looking for a warmer/better sound than you are able to get with the internal pre-amp on the mobile pre, you should try an external pre-amp, such as the preSonus tubepre, M-audio DMP3, studio projects VTB1, etc.

Yes, it would connect, just run it in between your microphone and the mobile pre, turn down the gain on the mobile pre, and use the gain knob on the external pre to boost the signal.

Only you can really know if you need a mixer or not. Chances are, you are going to want to use one, at least in software.
