Ludwig Bass Drum Head - Ebony With Port

Here is my drum kit (old photo, I now have better cymbals etc.):

I was wanting to get this head for my bass drum:

I have two questions,

1. - The port on the head will allow me to place my bass drum mic inside, will there be a big difference in sound from a head with no port?

2. - Is there anywhere in England that sells these bass drum heads, as this particular shop is in the US and I don't fancy getting it shipped over. I realise you can get the stickers to add to your heads, but I want the black head too.
So any shops or websites in England that do this item?

you could always just get a remo ebony head and put the logo on it.

those heads, in my opinion, are pretty crappy. i'd go for the ludwig vintage reissue, and then port the hole yourself. you can heat up something circular and metal, like a mug, and simply press into the head. voila, perfect circle.

Thanks for the advice, I was thinking of the remo one, but I did want the port so I could put my mic inside, so I might have a look around for ebony ones with ports
