Looking to buy a 4 track

I'm looking to buy a 4 track cassette recorder. Something that will let me record 4 simultaneous tracks at the same time. Any one?

I'd recommend taking a serious look at the 246. Not only does it have a whole four mic/line inputs but it also has a proper 4 buss mixer plus

* Insert points for each channel

* Three band sweep EQ on each channel

* Tape outs for each track

* PGM Buss In and Outs for each track

* Panning as well as gain on the monitor circuit.

How many weeks exactly, I'd be willing to wait. How much?

I should be done by June 20 or so. Just gotta finish some tape transfers & I'm done with it. I'll sell it for $100 shipped to anywhere in US.

There's also the Tascam 644, which is more recent.

Or, how about going 8 track with the 488 MKII or 688! :D

Sounds like a done ditty sir. Just as long as I can record 4 tracks at the same time, with no issue. Does it have phant00m power?

No the mkII did not have phantom power. Honestly, you'll want to get an external pre when you can afford it anyway. It's a good tape unit but the pres are very so-so.

Here's a 644

The 688 is the same but slightly bigger

And here's the 488

The 488 MKII has phantom power on two channels and can record to four tracks at a time from any number of inputs ;)
