Looking for cheap, decent digital drum kit + keyboard

I eventually plan to write and produce my own music, mainly through my computer.

I have a cheap, yet decent electric guitar, amp, acoustic guitar, condensor mic, dynamic mic, mixer, soundcard, headphones, and compressor.

Now here are my questions:

1. What are some cheap, yet decent electronic drum kits in the ~$400 price range? Hopefully with good resell value in case I end up not using it.

2. Do digital drum kits sound that much different from regular ones? I've heard some recordings that used them (a few with the Alesis DM pro) and to me they sounded pretty good.

3. Would drums sounds used through say, Fruity Loops, sound faker than a digital drum kit, or should I just try and use fruity loops for the time being and save up money for a better, more expensive electronic drum kit (or use FL and not buy one at all)?

4. I figure I would like to use a keyboard every now and then, pretty much just for the piano sound. Is there any certain keyboard I should be looking at, hopefully around or less than ~$100?

5. Also, I'm not really sure I'll need one, but are there any cheap but decent music sequencers? Or would it make more sense just to sequence in a program like Adobe Audition?

After I figure out what equipment to buy, all that's left is to learn how to play them :)

Thanks,

I think you should get a sequencer that supports midi and VST.
Since you are planning to program drums

I think the best one for a fair price is Cakewalk Sonar Home Studio, assuming you're using a PC....
for a U$100 you'll get a decent and stable sequencer

Or you could also get Cubase Start Edition for also around U$100

You know, all of those high-end sequencers have "beginner" versions. So you could also look for others if you think those don't suit you

I'm not really into drumkits as I mainly use samples, but for U$250 you can get Steinberg Groove Agent2 which is a great drum machine software and you won't need anything more for a long time

There's also Toontrack's EZdrummer/DfH (Drumkits from Hell)

Real easy to use and the best sounding/most realistic I've heard so far.

You can program it manually with a MIDI editor or just hook up a MIDI keyboard.

Thanks for the info, guys.

I just lost an auction for an Alesis DM Pro drum kit, being outbid by $5 and not having enough time to bid again. Auction closed at $340.

Guess I'll try out EZdrummer until I see another offer like that.

As for the keyboard: is there any specific kind anyone recommends?
