Looking for an MD

Hey Everyone,

I want to buy a MiniDisk player/microphone to record concerts I play in, recording lectures at school, lessons, etc. Nothing too high quality, but I want a decent audio quality.

I'm thinking of getting a Sony MZN-HF800. Anyone have any experience with this?

Then I need to sort out the mic issue. I was thinking of using one of my Rode NT5s, plus a phantom power unit into the MD player. Would this give me better quality than just a straight ahead Sony condenser that they sell with the MD player?

but I use it with a 4" extension cord from RS, 'cause if you set it up the way it is in the picture, your mic picks up the sound of the disc drive.
