I was wondering if such a USB audio interface would exist that would have 2 XLR inputs with phantom power and S/PDIF i/o and could be used without the computer as a standalone mic pre/ ADDA converter (XLR -> S/PDIF out) or as a standard USB soundcard when connected to laptop.
I have the Yamaha AW4416 multitracker that could use a couple more XLR inputs for total of 10 analog inputs and also a laptop that I could be used for stereo recording when the AW would be overkill.
