live recording card questions

I'm needing to record at least 8 tracks live.
I've seen the aardvark aark 20/20, yamaha ds2416 dsp factorydsp factory, and stuff all have this capability. Does anyone have any recommendations? Also, how well does vegas pro work for live recording and editing? thanks!

The Yamaha MD-8 digital box will also record 8 tracks at once.

Perhaps the other machines you mentioned do a bit better sound. Can't comment on those boxes.
