Line in trouble!

Anyone know why I cant record from line in on my sound card? I can record from the mic jack, but the Line in doesnt work, Ive used Sound Forge, Acid, and windows sound recorder. I get sound out of my speakers when playing through the Line in, but it wont record.

There are two major levels you need to be concerned with when recording through the line-in on your sound card:
1) Playback volume--which is obviously fine, since you can hear yourself playing through the computer.
2) Recording volume--which sounds like it's turned off. Look around your sound card software for the mixer and find the "View" option and select recording. I use a Sound Blaster Live Value. I love it. What are you using and how do you like?
