There is a definate difference, but I would not say that it is too big of a difference. To me the PCM series seems to have a smoother top end on most of their reverb algorithms, and internally seems to be quieter. The MPX 1 is a pretty decent box though. Now if you are talking MPX100, 200, 500 etc.... than there is certainly a bit more of a difference.
