Hey i was thinking about getting an effects processor for my rack and ive narrowed it down to the Lexicon MPX 500/500 and TC Electronics M-One XL. i will be using the processor for recording vocals and guitar. Any suggestions or reviews?

Thanks,

Pete

The TC M-OneXL is a huge favourite of mine...I often specify it above other more expensive 'verbs for live work and I'm sure it would also be great for recording work. It has a lovely, natural, open sound where a lot of electronic reverbs always sound a bit metallic to me.

I'm less of a fan of the Lexicon. I know a lot of people really like them but, to my ear at least, they never sound quite a natural as the TC Electronics unit.

Wow $300 for a reverb unit - that must be some kick ass reverb :D I'm sure you will tell me - oh that's cheap we have a $3000 reverb unit. And I am also sure it's worth it... just amazes me

Yup...it really is "kick ass" in what it can do and how it sounds! Frankly, I've heard more expensive boxes (used to have a Yamaha SPX1000) but have sold that preferring the TC Electronics one (and the built in verbs in my mixer and DAW).

Even many of the factory presets are great with little to no tweaking! One of my favorites is "Big snare and toms" preset number 15 ... I think.

Alright guys thanks for the help. Ive decided on the TC Electronics M-One XL. Now my next question...how do i use/wire it with my presonus firestudio project?

Heres what the firestudio project looks like:

Also, im already using the midi input for my keyboard.

Thanks!

Not the same config but the same principal I guess....
Ive got the Lexicon MX200 and projectmix I/O

Use the SPDIF in and out and create a send and return path you then map them to an aux channel use as a regular FX!

This is great with the lexicon because you can use the lexicion software and you don't have to get off your chair.....
