Just picked up a Lexicon Alec on Ebay for $81.00. Anyone tried one before? I have various highly programmable FX units in my rack but I liked the idea of something simple that permits you to dial up quick and easy sounds, particularly for live shows where you don't want to fiddle with a lot of picky parameters. Anyone tried one of these?--I got it without trying it. I don't usually buy gear I haven't tried, but heck for the money it seemed a reasonable risk. Reviews are ok on Harmony Central as well...
 
This may seem obvious, but it either sounds good or doesn't work at all. The editing is so limited that it's pretty much useless trying to tweak the sound, if you hear something you like, great, if not try something else. A couple of the patches sound good on percussion, certain vocalists, etc.
