hey there,

what does it mean if you have recorded you song peaking around -4db, there is no clipping, but when played on an average home stereo you cant turn the song up too loud without it distorting? how can i fix it? do i need to turn all the individual tracks down(if so how far?)and then raise the master(if so how far?)
cheers,
C

I'm having a similar problem, but I'm getting clipping on playback through Cakewalk Sonar, even though the recording level was at -6db and the playback is set to -8db.

I'm not really sure what the deal is. Any suggestions?

yup,

sonar 2.2 is what im using and its bloody frustrating. At first i just thought that i recorded with the mic too close to the sound hole, now after re-recording its still got the distortion? help

maybe thats what it is, but im not sure what it is supposed to be set to?
this is what it says:

Output- +4dbu
In1 - +4
In2 - +4

Latency- 384 samples

sample rate- 44,100

Is this bad? I got the soundcard off a mate without the instructions
cheers,
C.

please help,

i also have a M-audio omni and behringer truths.

what should i be having my sound card set at for playback, because you cant hear any of the distortion unless its on home speakers. Shouldnt i be able to hear it on my monitors?
