I've been using the new Layla 3G for a few weeks and have loved it...however, I got a Korg MS2000R off of ebay that came yesterday, and while recording it in Cubase thru the Layla, I noticed...not distortion but just little "ticks" in the sound. My levels were all very low, no clipping anywhere, and I even tried it thru each input on the layla.
Even just direct monitoring while Cubase was running without any project file open gave me the little ticks. When I unplugged the MIDI cable going from the Korg's MIDI out to the Layla's MIDI in, the ticks went away. It would seem like the MIDI coming into the Layla while I play the korg is somehow causing these little ticks in the sound to happen. has anyone ever experienced this? I adjusted the Layla buffers up and down and that didn't help. I'm going to try running the MIDI through my MIDIsport 2x2 and see if that works. Any ideas?
