Laptop to multitrack. help?

I've asked this once before but I still can't make it happen.
Here's the deal:

I've got a Toshiba laptop pc which I've used latest Cakewalk to create me a drum track. I want to get this drum track onto my Roland vs1680 as a track. How can I connect the laptop to the VS? I've actually done this from the laptop line out to the VS input but the volume was low. Do I just need a preamp?

good idea. never thought of that. I've not got a cdrw in the laptop though - bugger! I have got smart media drive on laptop and cdrw & smart media drive on a pc at work though so it could work. mmmmm
