Laptop Interference

OK here's the deal, I just got my new monitors today and hook them up. I played my MP3 player through them to see how they sounded. Sound great, so far so good. I then plug my laptop output to them and all hell breaks loose.
I'm getting this static interference kind of thing. I then unplug the power supply/battery charger and the noise goes away. I assume that it must be some kind of RF or something.
Has anyone had this problem before? Would a power conditioner with RFI filtering clean this up?

most likely a simple ground loop problem. a power conditioner may help. you should probably run a power conditioner regardless of this noise problem.

I think it's the charger/power supply. I most likely has an internal problem. If I pick it up and mess with the power cord it changes the static. I also smacked it and the noise went away. It comes back again and I smack it and it goes away.
I am going to order a new one.
