I am interested in what kind of equiptment is used to get those snappy little percussion sounds used by kraftwerk. I know that they made a lot of the insturments themselves, but im wondering what some comercially availible units there are (new or vintage) that would reproduce sounds like these. specific examples of the sounds im talking about are the percussion sounds on the "man machine" and "computer world" albums. also similar sounds can be heard in the background of michael jacksons "Bad" (its a synthy line of staccato 16th notes) and can also be found on a lot of Rammstien songs. any idea what kind of machines there are? 303s? 808s?
