I do that on some tracks, but I find it can take the life out of the recording a bit sometimes. But yea maybe I should turn down the harsh sounding ones

Never really been into rap (or Katy Perry!) but man, you sure can spit! Nice job and great mix. Nothing worse than hip hop rap home produced stuff that is all overly sibilant and waaayyy super harsh in the top end because these "producahs" overcook it to try and get it as bright as pro stuff with a single eq boost shelf of like +15 db, super sharp slope at like 5k and up! (or so it sounds)
