K2000 vs Motif6

What are you looking for, instant gratification or almost unlimited synthesis potential?

The reason I am asking is this. The Motif comes with hipper presets, also if you're into dance production the slice and dice feature of the Motif sampler is truly impressive. I have a recorded/sampled vocal being kept in time while changing the tempo of the sequence running on the Motif. Blew my mind.

However, if you are the proverbial tinkerer, like to experiment, aren't afraid of going into uncharted territory and are looking for something that will be with you for years to come, and will keep surprising you even after 10 years, then the K2xxx series synths are for you.

Check out this thread for a discussion between the up and coming Motif ES and K2661. Two of the people that have posts there are Kurzweil and Yamaha reps. The Yamaha rep used to work for Kurzweil. You'll get a lot of valuable and somewhat unbiased info. Many of the comments would also apply to the older instruments.

Also check out the Motifator site, for more info on the Motif.
