Just got a new comp . . .

My new comp is a powerbook G4. I didn't get it specifically for recording, but I'm sure it'll fit the bill. I have an M-audio mobilepre that I bought to use for recording with my old PC. I'm not looking to do anything pro-grade, just demo some songs. Vox and acoustic guitar, thats primarily it.

Where do I go from here? I'd like an inexpensive or (preferably) freeware multitrack recording program. Is N-track mac compatible? Any other suggestions?
 
If you have a new Powerbook it should come bundled with Garageband. Give that a try. Otherwise, I would look at something like Logic Express. It's not free ($299) but it's cheaper than Digital Performer or Logic.
