Hi,

Is this the right sort of material to be making some bass traps out of?

http://www.customaudiodesigns.co.uk/soundproofing/amw.htm

My room is completely untreated at the moment, and I was thinking making at least a few bass traps would improve some of the discrepancies I'm sure I'm hearing. Would this also be useful in a large closet I've been using to isolate my guitar amp, and would like to improve more? This is a much smaller space, so I assume it'd be cheaper/easier to treat this more effectively?

Thanks!

Andrew.

Yeah that's the stuff.

Yeah it'd work at making the closet sound better, not isolating though.

Yep yep, got that!

Thanks.

Would you put it on all the walls in the closet, or would that have an impact? Just the corners? Ceiling?

Andrew.
Treating the ceiling seems to have quite an effect(i just recently treated my rooms) if they are small. In the closet i'd just treat the ceiling and have a couple/few gobos to place where you need them. In the control room treat the corners, the side and ceiling reflection points, and the back wall. If you can treat behind the monitors and more on the side walls and ceiling.
