Is this computer fast enough?

I'm wondering if my computer is going to be fast enough. My system properties says it's....

HP Pavilion ze5700 Laptop
Mobile Intel Pentium 4
cpu 2.3ghz
1.58ghz, 448mb ram.
40 gb HD
External 80GB HD

I'm not sure why it says Ghz twice....?

I have a free slot in the side. Could I possibly put a pci card like the ones that come with Aardvark equipment?

Otherwise I have some USB ports, but they are not USB 2.0. Will this highly affect my ability to record?

damn near anything is fast enough depending on what you specificially want to be able to do. that second speed is probably the bus speed.
 
Would some more RAM do wonders?

I'd like to be able to record 2-4 tracks at a time, depending upon what breakout box or card I get.
