Is there something wrong with my mic?

I've had a pair of Studio Projects C4s for a few years now, and recently I've noticed that one mic is about 10db quieter than the other. I don't really remember this being the case before, although I guess I may just not have noticed. Is this a problem? It seems to me that they should be within only a few dbs of each other.
 
different caps maybe??? if they're not a matched pair then there will always be differences.... sorry....newbie suggestion :D
 
If you have been noticing this problem "recently", why on earth haven't you contacted PMI/Studio Projects on their toll free number..........they're well known for their customer support virtually regardless of how old a product is and who is going to know the mics best, someone on a forum or SP themselves ;)
