Is there any way to re-tag mp3s?

Is there? I'm using Wavelab and have a whole bunch of pre recorded mp3s. I want to tag them so that they all have the same artist and album details etc etc. Thanks in advance...and I hope this the right forum...

I just use MusicMatch Jukebox. Load up the mp3's into it, then right click on them and edit the tags. Hope that is what you are looking for.

Thousands of ways to edit ID3v1 tags, and hundreds of ways to edit ID3v2 tags.

Check out your local tucows.com to download stand-alone id3 taggers that will do batch processing, etc.

I don't like musicmatch personally, it ads an obese header to the mp3....

I'm pretty sure whatever you do, you need to decompress and recompress. This will reduce the sound quality. No?

Not at all barefoot. ID3 tags are non-encoded, they basically just replace chunks of header, or add the tag to the front or back of the data.

Good ID3 tag editors have Zero effect on the mp3 quality, and should never require the mp3 to be de-encoded/re-encoded.

W,

Cool. I always assumed I needed to start again from the original. Thanks, that's good to know. :)
