Please help im stuck with choice which is nice!
i need 8 xlr inputs for full drum kit recording but also i need to record electric guitar
which interface will suffice? if i can get awa with the cheapest one i will but if need be i'll go the extra mile

I recommend you stay away from the line 6 ux8, its cheap, but the drivers are not very good.

I've had an M-Audio Mobile Pre, Alesis Multimix 8 Firewire and, most recently, the Zoom R24. All have served me well for what they were. Suffice to say I'm very happy with the Zoom now---look for a used R16 if you don't need things like the sampler function.

Or.....you can reduce your drum kit miking to 4 or 6 mics, get an 8-channel interface...and have 4 or 2 extra inputs for guitar and whatever.

If you don't fancy a standalone recorder (some simultaneously record 8 tracks), this is what I'd suggest. But then, what do I know ?
