Insurance for you music instruments/equipment?

How many of you have your music gear insured for flood/fire theft or whatever?

Homeowner's insurance covers it, so no worries.

I have mine covered under my homeowner's policy.

Make sure you have enough "contents" coverage to cover all your equipment. Also, never tell your agent you have a studio "for hire." They could consider it for commercial use and possibly not cover it under homeowners. And yes, all mine is covered under homeowners.

I have an inland marine rider which not only covers the gear in my studio - but also covers anything I tak out of the studio for gigs.

As indicated homeowners coverage often does not provide coverage for gear used to generate revenue (also your liability coverage may not apply for people injured on your property if there are conducting business (ie: a client falls down the basement steps) In addition, there can be specific stated limits on things like computer equipment, electronics, etc
