In pursuit of excellence

Hmmmm buying and fiddling with audio gear seems to be overtaking my drive for writing and recording music. This is bad because once I've shelled out my lifes / wife's savings for new toys what am I actually gonna do with the damn things? :)

Anyway, was looking at a Cubase Studio Pack deal, going for £400 it includes:

Cubase VST V5, Wavelab Version II and an RME Digi96/8PST.

The RME has 8 ADAT I/O, now never having done it before I'm assuming if I got hold of a digital mixer (something like an old Yamaha 01) I could make use of the 8 ins and outs?

Haven't Prosonus released a 1U front end that does 8 preamps to ADAT or something? That would be better spacewise though probably not in budget sense.

Anyway, I thought this sounded like a pretty good deal considering what I'm upgrading from:

Cubasis VST 2.0
Maxi Studio ISIS (god this thing is a pain, have to go into my bios every other boot up and make the pc go 'find' it again)
