I've been doing that for about 2 weeks now & the more I look the more ambivalence I see, it's quite confusing, espeically since I'm a beginner.

I've heard good & bad things about the Midiman Audiobuddy so I'm a little timid about it.. but that is a good deal, I plan on getting the Echo Mia for sure.

Ok,

Marshall MXLv67 ($149)

for preamp, either a Delta DMP2 ($179) with an inline pad ($20) or a Joe Meek VC3Q.....depending on the sound you want...the DMP2 in a clean pre, while the Joe Meek has a pleasingly colorful sound......

soundcard - Delta Audiophile2496 ($159)

as far as cords, make your own...ill try and dig up the thread about it.....

Do you have a link where I can check out the DMP2? I've heard about it but I've yet to see it in any of the online stores I usually go to, also could you explain a little on what you mean by pleasingly colorful? ( I'm a newbie :/ plus I've been eye balling the joemeek pre amps ).

thanks for the info & I appreciate any threads on cords, I'm wondering what to look for & what kind of effects a bad cord can have on sound quality.

as far as clean vs colored, its hard to explain...its something you have to hear....clean is a more what you have is what you get kinda sound...colored is kinda warm and cozy....i find Joe Meek to do a great job on vocals...if you wanna check out an example, check out any mp3s by ShakesTheClown in the mp3 mixing clinic or here: http://www.youngmusicgroup.com/samples.htm
