Impedence Setting on my new TwinTrak, Help?

Hey everyone. I just picked up a new Focusrite TwinTrak Pro two-channel pre the other day. I've got a few different mics that I plan on running through it, mainly being my Groove Tubes gt-55, my BLUE Baby Bottle, my Oktava MK012s, and my SM57/58s. The pre has an impedence setting on it and from what I've heard, when you don't have the correct impedence for your microphone, you can loose some freqencies completely. Does anyone know how valid this is or if so, where I can find the optimal settings for each of these mics? Or perhaps, it's one of those things where I had just mess around with the knob while singing to try and get the best setting for each.

Thanks a bunch everyone.

1. Plug in mic.
2. Set impedance switch.
3. Record.

Repeat 2 & 3 for as many mics/settings you have.

4. Compare.
5. Choose which you like.
