Right now I'm just bullshitting around with garageband. I'm an artist and plan on selling some of my records and I don't want to deal with the hassle of getting the rights to producers beats, so I figured i'd take the matter into my own hand. All I wanna know is which would be the best first piece of equipment to start out on? whether it be a keyboard workstation, an mpc, etc. I just want something better than software sounds...willing to spend up to a grand on my first piece... any suggestions?
