I'm brand new-this is my first post

I am looking for a forum where I can share my music- at various stages of development with others who will provide constructive criticism- and listen. I also enjoy listening to other people's stuff.

At the moment I have 12 tracks posted at soundclick.com

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=552803

(the first track Blackout Blues is not really what I typically sound like- it is a response to a contest that asks people to write and record a song in 2 hours.

I plan to record something new tonight to post on the site Thursday.

Thanks!

Hey P....I'm really digging Brown Banana...And Got to give it up....I liked the blues tune, too. I find all your tunes have a "John Sebastien/Loving Spoomful quality to them...very feel good without being too happy (if that makes sense). I would say that the vocals can up a lot and still not be too loud. Nice song-writing, dude.

I hesitate to commint on your mix much because you obviously have a sound that seems to stamp all of the songs I listened to. I listened to 7 or 8. The only thing I might say is that I would bring the vocals up front a little more with a little dryer mix on the effects and maybe a tad of high end on some of the songs. I think you could get away with no eq more than likely if you had a little dryer mix on the vocals and raised the volume on them a bit.

Like I said. You really have a sound going so I'm not talking any thing drastic. just a little tweeking to bring the vocals a little more into the mix.

Very cool stuff by the way. You have that mic at the back of the club sound down.

Thanks for listening

Rami I really like the Loving Spoonful comment- I will take that as a compliment, and I guess that is sort of how I hear myself to a certain degree. I agree about the mix and my vocals being too quiet- I'm not a confident singer and I guess that kind of shows. Most of the material has been recorded on the Zoom PS-02, which is an ancient and simple machine.
I've put a new one on today- have a listen.

Hi, thanks for your comment on my tracks!

I had a listen to some of your songs, I have to agree with the other posters that you have a "sound" going on, really good song writing. On the mix side, bring those vocals up, don't be afraid to have them as the loudest thing in the mix. Also, you have a bit of noise going on (hiss), although it does give the tracks a kind of retro quality I must admit.

man, you wrote all those songs? good job. youre very creative. nice work. i dont really have any comments on your mix. as mentioned earlier, youve got a certain vibe going on that transcends all of your songs, so that must be your thing. more power to ya. dont be shy though about your vocals. let em shine. theres lots of people that cant sing for shit and they go on to become millionaires.

Thanks Greg- your very kind- are you a motivational speaker in the off season or what? Where can I listen to your stuff.

i detect a hint of sarcasm, but thats okay. i didnt mean anything negative at all in what i said. sorry if it seemed that way.

i have a few clips floating around here in the mp3 section. most recently i did a cover of the stones "paint it black". i think its still on the first page if you care to listen. :)

Tenderfoot is very Lemonheads or Evan Dando at least. Nice, nice, nice - vox could come up a tiny bit. Good melodies, good performances - the effect on the guitar did become a bit tired after a while, (perhaps using it in just chorus or just verse & something else in the chorus ?) but it's obviouly a vibe/sound/stamp that you've pegged out for your own.
Good songwriting skills on display. Congratulations.
