Idiot needs help

OK, maybe that was a bit over the top. But here's the thing: I'd like to upgrade from Pro Tools 6.8.1 to whatever is available now. Do I have to take intermediary steps or can I upgrade to v.8 now?

I'm running 6.8.1 LE on an M Powered system through a Mac iBook G4 circa late 2005. If that's important.

Thanks for any help. I just don't want to screw up what I already have, which is working fine. (But I would like to upgrade.)

You should be able to buy the latest one (I think it's 8.0.3) and download it straight from the Digidesign (or Avid) website. I think there's two versions, one is the 8.0.3 update which is only if you're updating from an earlier version of 8, or a full installer which includes the full version of 8, and all the updates up to 8.0.3
