I have an Alesis Multimix 16USB, is there a way to multitrack directly into my computer, or would I have to go DAT, mix and then dump it in? Help! I don't want to get stuck with everything in ONE TRACK!

I've been reading about the alesis multimix hardware since I'm still researching which recording interface I want to have.
Based on what I've read, youwill not be able to record your drums into seperate tracks using.
If you has the firewire version of it, then you could record each of your inputs to seperate tracks, however, due to the lower speed of usb, the usb model only allows you to record into a single track.

so basically, the answer to your question is, not with the hardware you have

Ok, that wasn't really a yes/no question though.
I was wondering if I can go tape (which I have no problem with because I think my drums sound better on tape anyway) or another route...such as a card, etc. There's more than one way to skin a cat, I just have limited funds here.
