Clay- Thanks for the kudos. I know very little Spanish but growing up I heard it a lot. My mom speaks fluently. I think that helped. Also she helped with some of the grammar with my english to spanish translation.
JuSumPilgrim- You can always tell if someone knows how to set a graphic eq on their stereo system if it looks like a smile. Generally, anyway. I like the new term.
boydrj- What kind of a system only lets you listen to 10 seconds of anything? Are you streaming or downloading? Anyway, thanks for the compliments, it means a lot considering you only heard the opening.
yiordanaki- Thanks for all the great things you said. I really don't understand spanish that well. There is a translation website that helped me fine tune it-

I recorded the guitars with 8-12k rolled off about 6db. I thought it helped mellow the steel string brightness a bit.
Track Rat - you're too kind, thanks for the compliments on the guitar playing. You know, the brightness thing has been an issue with all my home recordings. I'm using headphones for the most part and then checking the mix on a pair of Audix PH5's. The speakers always seem bright. I considered running the mix through a low pass in Sound Forge but decided not to. Maybe I'll give that a try after all. The percussion sounds (Roland Fantom) especially the shaker are definately on the bright side and I think that's where most of it is coming from. Thanks for the listen.
I presented the song to my girlfriend yesterday- I handed her the cd that I had burned. At first she thought it was a "mix cd". I had to tell her three times- "No, I wrote and recorded a song for you". Well, she listened to it 4 times in a row and gushed continually how much she loved it and how no one has ever done that for her. She has a pretty good grasp of Spanish so she understood it for the most part. She was so happy all day long. She even said it was "sexy"! Whoa. I tell you, writing a song for a girl can really give you points. Of course, I learned how to play the guitar in the first place so I could get chicks.
Gracias a todo
Jon
