I do. I love poking my finger with a miniature pike and burning some other fingers touching too-hot metal. I love knowing that, in the end, I've saved myself several dollars on cables that wouldn't be the right lengths anyway.
Oh, and I love soldering back together a POS Shure Prologue that my son likes to carry around the studio, drop, pick up, drop again and then hammer on the floor with. As I was putting the element back into place, the top metal cover fell off revealing the diaphram. No wonder it sounded like crap, there was glue on the diaphram.
