YES!
I knew I needed to upgrade from my hi-fi speakers if I wanted to keep progressing in recording.
I bought a pair of KRK RP-8's and just got them set up on my desk.
Dear Lord, the difference is immediatley apparent. Now I REALLY know what others meant by flat-response and good stereo imaging.
DELICIOUS.
I'm sure I'll have the speakers "broken in" pretty quickly. Not to mention, I'm already noticing little things in some of my favorite professional recordings. I can hear more of whats going on in the background, as well as other little nuances that are making me LOVE monitors.
I even pulled up some recent recordings and was noticing all sorts of things I had either missed or mis-interpreted.
The RP-8 may not be the best, but it'll be plenty for now! After 2 hours, I know these monitors were worth EVERY penny. (plus they look sweet)
I'm off to soak up the delightful sounds of real studio monitors.
