I couldn't bring myself to buy a POD

I really wanted to buy a POD. That way I could play with it and try to get a decent tone and find out what is so cool about it. I could also use it along with my PSA-1 to give it some effects and to play with additional speaker modeling. Kind of like the good tones B.Sabbath got with his GT2 into a POD.

However,

I just couldn't get a good tone out of it that reacted to the dynamics of my playing. For example, the SansAmp stuff just FEELS more like a real amp. Also, the POD lacked the low end chunk and singing sustain that I crave.

The nail in the coffin was that I also tried a BOSS GT-8. The GT-8 both sounded and felt more like a real amp. It would give me chunk, it sang with sustain, it performed fellatio on my harmonics... sucking them out of the strings. It sounded so good, I had to buy it.

It will be interesting to compare its tone with the PSA-1.

Next time I get an urge to buy a POD, I'll have to bring my GT-2 along to see if that fixes the tone problem...
