hyper cardioid stereo pair? why?

I just purchased a pair of oktava mk012's with six capsules

I'm very excited about stereo mic'ing, but I'm wondering about the hypercardioids... I'll be using one for boom operating, but what will I use a matched pair of hypercardioid capsules for?

I know you CAN use hypercardioid in stereo pairs, but why would you want so much focus? I guess i just gotta experiement and hear for myself, but it seems wierd.. and I guess, if used in XY, the angle would have to be smaller for their patterns to overlap?

Anyway, anyone been using hypercardioid in stereo pair much? Share your thoughts please

They are good for x-y, and help block out reflections in a crappy sounding room.
