How weird is that?

Still wrestling with my first S/PDIF experience...

I had already bought 2 "digital cables" from a home theater store. One is actually a Monster cable (JR-9502. 2 Meters long), and with both of them it's pop and click city... I did, however manage to get good results with an oooooold standard RCA cable (Half the length of the Monster cable).

Huh?

what you are getting is what we call digital clicks. How to resolve this issue is to make sure the input part is the slave. and sync at the right hz, like 44.1 and 48.8.

so lets say in protools you just sync the clock to SPDIF.

Aren, it does sound like a clock issue. When making any kind of digital transfer, something has to be the clock master and the other the slave. The recieving device is always the slave and has to be set accordingly.

Thanks guys!

I did, in fact, forgot to change the sampling rate in Sound Forge to 48Khz instead of 44.1...
However, n-Track *was* set to 48, so I don't really understand what the problem is.
I'll do some further investigation...
