How to get this Vocal sound ?

IF you have a good pair of monitors you could here Like the thickness of it. Im using logic pro 9 just wondering how to get vocals like this.

I have Waves Bundles and they cant even get this sound. lol But im not to experienced with them. Im good with the stocks.

I'm not hearing anything super special with the vocal. It just sounds like that guy's voice with some Compression and EQ.. Does your voice sound like his to start with? If not you can't just create that with some plugins.

Do you mean the hook "Who the f--k passed you the mic and said that you could flow?" The vocal may be doubled and moved forward or backwards a couple milliseconds which would thicken it up.

Your problem may lie in the recording more so than the mixing.

Yeah not hearing anything crazy, maybe a little proximity effect.

Sounds like Comp and EQ to me. Compression on the vocals seem pretty controlled, but the vocalist himself + mic/pre-amp combo could be the other half of the the story... (I'm listening on a cheapo pair of phones at work at the moment though and can't all the detail I'd like...)
