DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I"LL BLOWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

J/K!!

How many tracks have you been able to play back? record?

I think what everyone is saying is that you have one slow-ass HD and so the only way to figure out an answer to your question is for you to see how many tracks you are able to play back before you notice problems with your system.

7200 rpm is the standard minimum for recording audio, you can do it with less but are apt to run into problems sooner than later.

Good luck.

I have a PIII 850, 396 Megs Ram and a 4200 rpm drive and I can playback 10 tracks no problem.

Sae - thanks for the reply - an others

Bass Master etc. . Thanks for your replies but I don't own a laptop or a 4200 rpm drive.

I have 7200 rpm drives, but am considering buying a laptop to use with external 7200rpm drives.

I am just wondering when I am on the go - - at the beach or on a cliff - how many tracks I will be able to work with - if any.

So ... sae 10 works fine for you?

ANyone else

Thanks!

I've seen 4 tracks of 24/96 recording to a laptop harddrive via an Echo Mona, once. No hitches during that time...
