how good is the Soundcraft Spirit FX8?

for those of you who have been following my previous post, i'm pitting this one up against a Mackie 1402, Mackie 1604, and a Soundcraft Spirit M8 (and Behringer 2004A, i guess..)

The 1604 and M8 are a touch out of my price range, but this FX8 seems attainable - and quite nice (those preamps *look* good..)


Opinions??

im trying to find out about the fx 16 right now. So im not sure. I think its comparable to the mackie 1402vlz pro, or that would be my guess. its not gonna be crap because its soundcraft. If it seems like it has the features you want, i'd go with it.

From Lynn Fuston's 3D Audio mic pre comparison CDs, the Mackie 1604vlz on-board pres made a respectable competitor for the pricier pres in the shoot-out... I'd would say the Mackie has the edge, although the SC's EQ is probably more "musical"...
