How far apart is too far for monitor placement?

I have my monitors on either side of my computer desk. They are almost 6 feet apart. When I mix, I am back 6 feet from them, (perfect triangle). I think it is acceptable. The way my desk is, 6 feet apart is the minimum. What are your opinions?

I personally think as long as the speakers and your sitting position form an equalateral triangle it does not matter.

I guess at a certain point your room and the noise level thereof comes into play, but assuming you have a decent monitoring environment, it should not matter within reason. (I would'nt go 30 feet )
