How do I "time" Delay?

Is there a simple formula for calculating the timing of my delay so that it occurs in tempo? For example, if I'm using a click track and recording at 120 bpm, what should my delay setting be?

I remember seeing a "formula" once in one of the home recording magazines, but I've misplaced it.

Thanks...BobO.

Thanks, AtWork! I think this is exactly what I was looking for. I'm going to do some experimenting tonight.

Delay

Try matching the delay time (ms) with the tempo of the click, ie.120
You might be pleased with the results.

hey oldguy...

I think that is what he was already trying to do....

what he was asking for was how to correctly convert from bpm to ms (or actually vice versa)

Hey BobO

In case you lose that chart...

the setting formula is 60000ms/bpm of the song
60000/120=500ms for quarter notes. Multiply that or divide it for note changes...
with that formula you can calculate Multi tap delays if you want...

Peace.

There are several BPM calcs out there besides Analog X. Some are shareware, but you may do a search for:

MidiCalc (or Midi Calc)
EchoView
