How do I get this guitar sound?

I apologise if this is in the wrong thread, if so may someone please direct me to the correct one.

I'm quite new to home recording, so I'm unsure of whether the following guitar sounds are created during the recording process (microphones, strings, guitar), or the mixing process (effects). If they do fall under these categories, how would I go about replicating them?

The sound I'm looking for is in the intro to these songs, it's very vintage/indie:
Fire & The Flood - Vance Joy

Old Pine - Ben Howard

Whole Wide World (Cover) - Bahamas

Thanks

Vance Joy - Guitar is too far in the background to assess.
Ben Howard - Doesn't really sound like any iconic tone,a few highs rolled of with compression that's about it.
Bahamas - Sounds a bit like my counterfeit Shure Sm58 mic.

All 3 sound different but sounds like the common factor is rolled off highs and compression. Experiment with multiband compressors and low-pass filters.
