How can I make the best quality recording with the most cheap equipments

I think today we can make good recordings with cheap equipments, but I don´t know exactly what equipment they are. Could one of you tell me what are these equipment?. Please specify the brand, the version, etc of each one of them.
 
go to tracertek.com...check out the hoontech soundcard with the onboard XG mid synth for $69...cheap enough?
 
although moonz card is cheaper, i would spend more on a M-Audio MobilePre USB. It has two XLR channels that go to the computer simulataneously (two is as far USB will go), which will record drums. It's not great quality for drums, but it will do it and it sounds pretty good. Plus, there's also a line in on the front panel to plug in a guitar directly. And it's a preamp so the mic quality going into your computer is good. Also, it's USB, so you can take it pretty anywhere, unlike PCI where you'd have to drag around the desktop. The unit runs for $150. I've used it many a times and its a about the best quality for the price.
