I just built a pair of these homebrew ECMs and was reALly surprised by the results. The Behringer ECMs cost about 100$ each here, so the value for money can't be beat. It gave me the urge to build a dosen of them, in several configurations.
I do have a couple of questions, though:
1) Did anyone build a PZM style pic with these capsules? any luck?
2) I am planning to play live with a violinist at the end of July (Pop/Jazz style. Nothing classical) and was thinking of ways to mic the violin. The idea of sticking a 57' near the instrumetns sounds like it won't do justice to the violin or the player. Do any of you think that using one of these little omnis is a good idea, or will it feedback like there's no tomorrow?
