Hi folks:
New to these forums from a link at harmony-central. Nice place.
I've been building a home studio for the past year and have:
a G4 upgraded mac
Omni Delta 66
RNC
Roland 3030 reverb
Rode NT1000
Yammy synth
guitars
v-amp
Korg ER-1
TX16w sampler
Digital Performer 3
Behringer 8 track mixer
softsynths + plug-ins
Behringer Truth monitors
I'm using the Behringer mixer for monitoring only. I use the Omni to track, specificially, to line 1 and 2, which have the same mic pre channel as the Audio Buddy (or so I hear). It is also the only channel on the Omni that is tied to the insert bus.
My question is: the Omni Delta box also has an effects bus and four pots to control the amount of effect you'd like to add to the channel. It only has a mono out tho. Plus, I am tracking everything through channel 1 and 2, so I'm wondering if I should use the reverb as an insert instead (the 3030 has a mix knob). I'm wondering if it would be cleaner than going through an additional bus.
I'm assuming the reverb would go before the compressor....
Also, now that I've got the basics what else will I find myself needing (not wanting--I want a lot...). I'm going to spend some time learning as much as I can about the stuff I have, but I'm curious about what kinds of things I should keep an eye on--and what I should avoid.
Any input is appreciated.
