I've ordered focusrite 2i2 but this ques. is for my friend. He wants to know if he should buy the Blue Icical or the Focusrite 2i2 like me or a usb mic such as the samson c01u?
His current setup is a custom made xlr to 3.5mm jack cable which gives a lot of background noise and dull sound in the recordings.
The use will be for singing over instrumentals. What would you suggest?
And as the interfaces are much costlier here in India he wants to know if you suggest an interface ( whichever you suggest even if other than the focusrite 2i2 ) will it be good for long term use?
